PXE Server List Keeps Showing Non-existant Boot Configurations

  • 1.  PXE Server List Keeps Showing Non-existant Boot Configurations

    Hi,

I am having an ongoing problem with PXE in NS / DS 7.1 that, at the moment, just has me going around in circles.

I created 2 original boot envireoments when I first installed DS, a "GHS WinPE x86" and a "GHS WinPE x64" boot configurations. After a bit of testing I deicded that it would be best to use just the one preboot envireoment as we do not have enough x64 computers to make it worth teh time developing this.

I removed both of these configurations from the PXE list, and created  a lone "GHS WinPE" boot that is usable for both x86 and x64 systems. However, the original 2 keep showing up in the PXE boot list when a client turns on, but are not displayed on the PXE Preboot Configurations page under Settings. This is proving problematic as I cannot find where to remove them from the list, and they are at the top of the list so clients automatically go to an incorrect PXE option, which returns an error, unless we are there to manually change it.

If anyone could givwe me some advice I would be most grateful. I have read through all of the technet articles I can find covering similar problems, telling me to recreate the preboot envireonment, check the service startup order, and reset the SBSNSISignal.ini file etc etc. But nothing has prevented the problem. I have also run a repair on the PE and full-core DS installers to try and reset back to original settings, but with no luck.

Any help would be much obliged.

    Regards
