I was reading the Shared storage guide.Below i was not able to understand
The operation, which is one of the following:
The host on which the script is executed needs SCSI access to the
drive until it is released.
RESERVED
Informational only. It does not change the fact that the host that
reserved the drive needs SCSI access.
ASSIGNED
RELEASED Only the scan host needs SCSI access to the drive.
The host that executes the script has become the scan host.Ahost
should not become a scan host while the drive is RESERVED.
The scan host may change between a RESERVED operation and a
RELEASED operation.
SCANHOST
- Scan host basically tells the EMM server that this drive(abc) is unassigned and if a job comes please assign this drive to the job?
- If the scan host is down,EMM will automatically pick one of the media server and make it a SCAN host?
- Every job has a same scan host untill a problem occurs?

Please show us 'vmdareq' output on your master server.
We will help you to understand SCANHOST, RESERVED, ASSIGNED, etc. in YOUR environment.

Ok.I am provididng the output. Then we will have a look.
Simply amazing that you, Arun K, nike_new and Andy2345 all have the exact same questions! It's almost like you share one brain.
Something weird in your "output," though - 06 Feb 2013 isn't a Saturday, and 07 Feb 2013 isn't a Sunday.
Actually, I would have expected to see "feb" capitalized in this output as well. Is it possible these logs are from October 2012 and rather poorly edited? And if THAT is the case, did they really come from an environment you are administering which is live right now? Because...well, I guess I'm just a suspicious character. Also, one wonders why you'd go to all this trouble when it's so much easier to just consult the documentation and get your answer, other than the fact that there would be less points all around that way...
(Anyone who is concerned that I'm not answering the question is free to visit the other previously linked threads, where several are available.)
Hmm, top marks CZ, you don't miss much
