Query on Exclusion of Data in the Mount-Point by End Point

Created: 17 Apr 2013 • Updated: 17 Apr 2013 | 2 comments

Hi Expert,

My customer is using EndPoint Protection on Microsoft Exchange 2010 Server. He confirmed that he had excluded the mountpoint from scan list by setting this path E:\mountpoints\*.*

Note E Drive is the placeholders for mountpoints.

Now my question is this the kind of approach we use for mount-point exclusion or do i need to ask him to exclude in the following method

1) E:\Mountpoints\DB-01\Database folder

2) E:\Mountpoints\DB-01\Log Folder

Can anyone of them confirm me on this.

I'm not sure how he set that exclusion as SEPM would not allow it, as it does not allow the use of wildcards. See here:

Which variables and wildcards does Endpoint Protection allow in Centralized Exception Policies?

You need to exclude the full path
