This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

1.    I have installed Symantec Mail Security for Exchnage 6.5 on two HUB servers, Can we add both servers in one group ?
2.    Login credentials doesn’t accept for opening Symantec console for all admins except using for installation.
3.    Internet proxy (Internet directly given to Transport server or proxy needed), In case of direct internet which port or website name for update.

Regards,

S2S

Greetings,

1. Yes you can manage both HUB servers as one group.  Please see the steps listed below for adding a server asset to a group.

  • Click the Assets button at the top of the console.
  • Select Add Server(s)
  • Choose the Exchange servers from the list of available servers or specify the IP address of the servers you would like to add.
  • Click  the right facing arrow button to add each desired server to the Selected severs list.
  • A dialog box will requesting you to select the version of Symantec Mail Security installed on the added server.
  • Select the correct version and press OK.
  • Complete steps 3-6 for each additional server you would like to add to the console.
  • Select the Send group settings checkbox.
  • Click OK
  • Click Close

2.Verify that the user who is attempting to open the SMSMSE console is a member of the SMSMSE Admins or SMSMSE Viewers group.

3. Below I have listed the hostnames and ports required by SMSMSE as described in TECH179796

Hostname Protocol Port
liveupdate.symantec.com TCP 80
liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com TCP 80
definitions.symantec.com TCP 80

If Premium AntiSpam will be used additionally it is needed

Hostname Protocol Port
register.brightmail.com TCP 443
aztec.brightmail.com TCP 443

Hi Mark,

Thanks for all clarification which I cleared but little bit confused in second point to verify admins, which permission or rights we need to check?

One more thing one the same console we can add the second server or we need to seperately install the console on any other system without having exchange installed?
