    It is possible to software like Recuva among others ... Recover Data from a disk that was formatted but that were not properly decrypted before?

    PGP WDE encryption encrypts every sector of the disk, except that containing the PGP bootloader.  Reformatting the disk does not decrypt any of the previously stored data; it remains secure.  Any data stored to the disk after reformatting it, is not encrypted and is therefore not secure.

    You would be recovering the data in its encrypted state.  If you somehow manage to recover the entire drive its theoretically possible to then decrypt the disk - I'd highly doubt it would work though
