  • 1.  question about the necessity of the intelligent updater

    Posted Dec 16, 2012 06:06 AM

    hello friends,

I have a question about the intelligent updater in my offline network.

Now I download the intelligent updater 2 times in a week for my norton 360. But I think 2 times is not necessary and I want to change the cycle and increase it to just one time.

But after 5 or 6 days the antivirus warn me and send me At Risk messages....

My question is : can I download the intelligent updater just one time in a week? Is it any Risk in thiy case?

    awaiting for the reply,

    Sarah

    Hi,

I would request you to add a Thread on the Norton 360 Community.

The risk is that your virus definitions will be out of date by a week. Many new threats are discovered each day and added so you need to weigh this risk. Personally, I would update every day but I'm not sure of your situation.

Since your network doesn't have Internet access, the risk can be smaller. Do you allow external device storage? If so, you may want to think about updating more frequently.

Without Internet access, is your virus count high or very low?
