  • 1.  Question on Compliance

I deployed an application via Managed Software Delivery Policy to a computer and the Compliance report shows that computer is "In Compliance" now.  I uninstalled that software. The next day, compliance check will run, see that it is not in compliance, and install it again.  Is there a way to force a compliance check from the server now just to see a Not Compliant status?

I believe the quickest way to accomplish this is to change the when the complianc check occurs, and then run a client task on the desired machines to force them to request configuration.  When dealing with policies, there is not much "forcing" you can do from the server.

I'm new to SMP 7.1 and  Should I run a "Task" or a "Client Job" and then add the "Task" in it?

No problem.  Create a new "Task".  Then when the task type selector appears, scroll down to the bottom and look for the Notification Server folder and then find the 'Update Client Configuration' task type.  Select that, give it a meaningful name and then hit OK.  It will then allow you to choose when you want to run it and on which computers.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I think something is wrong with my server.  On the Agent it shows Last task of "Update Client Configuration" with a Result of "Success - return code 0".  But on the server, it still shows 100% Running and when I go into the details, it shows 1 for Not Started and 0 for Running, Succeeded, and Failed.  This is happening on other Tasks like Inventory.  I've even waited 24 hours and still the same status.

Yes, something doesn't seem right - you should definitely be getting task status back before 24hrs.  Tech Support should be able to help you there.
