Question: Endpoint Management Community and Beta Products
Hello Everyone,
We are in the process of evaluating different replacements options for the Altiris Beta Portal. As part of moving towards a combined, single-sign on service for our customers, we would like to elicit feedback from you on what you would think of making the beta products available via Symantec Connect?
A couple of questions to consider:
What are the main reasons your organization does not participate in the Altiris Beta Program?
Would you be more likely to participate if the products were available via Connect?
For those that participate in beta, what can we do to help you more effectively participate in our beta cycles.

What are the main reasons your organization does not participate in the Altiris Beta Program?
We don't participate because sometimes the product in Beta is just a piece of the overall puzzle that we're using and without the whole thing being available we won't be able to go anyway. Now with the final items for NS7 rolling in we'll be much more likely to start trying Beta products in our Development Domain.
Would you be more likely to participate if the products were available via Connect?
I don't think that would make much of a difference in my experience. I would probably provide more frequent and possibly better feedback if it were in Connect, but it wouldn't change the chances I'd participate.

Yes, you will see going forward Suite level betas, CMS, SMS, AMS, and TMS, as a combined suite of products all in beta at once, rather than just the point solutions.. Thanks for your reply.

it's one less site\login for me to remember. Also, it may be easier to get feedback and more of it!

I barely have time to do my day-to-day job, much less to test beta code...
Would you be more likely to participate if the products were available via Connect?
Not unless Symantec sends someone out to help with my "day job"! :-)
