  • 1.  question regarding entries in delivery queue

Running Symantec Messaging Gateway version 10.5.2-3 here.  I'm fairly new to the product.

Configured for Inbound filtering only with a single domain configured and forwarding to our local Exchange server.

While looking around I noticed we have dozens of messages in our Delivery Queue (under STATUS, MESSAGE QUEUES).  These messages are to external addresses (appear bogus) from MAILER-DAEMON.  Route is Default-Non-Local-Route, last error says "421 4.4.0 [internal] Failed to connect: no mail servers for this domain could be reached at this time".

Can someone explain why these messages would be in our Delivery queue?  If we are doing inbound filtering only, and these messages are addressed to outside domains, how are they getting in our queue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Just dawned on me, these are rejections coming from the Symantec Messaging Gateway itself - correct?

    Thanks!
