  • 1.  Question on the viewing the content of an image

    Posted May 25, 2011 08:58 PM

    Hi,

I was using Ghost 2003 to browse the content of a ghost file.  In that content, I see there is a "windows" subfolder, but I was not able to click into the folder.  In that content, there is also a "Documents and Settings" subfolder that I can browse into.  I wonder why that I can't see the content in the "windows" folder.

    Thanks.

Do you have all the ghost files available on the same media, or is this just a single file image?

Typically, Ghost images consist of a GHO file of 2Gb then additional GHS files of a maximum 2Gb each. It is possible that the contents of the windows folder are in one of the GHS files so unless the file is available in the same folder as the GHO file, the explorer program will not be able to read it.

Also, is the the C:\Windows folder ?  There are other windows folders in some builds so just wanting to check you are not looking at the wrong one.
