  • 1.  Questions about Auto-Protect and Centralized Exceptions

There seems to be some questions on my end regarding exclusions and how they work with auto-protect. What the difference between configuring what auto-protect should scan (file extensions) vs. using centralized exceptions to exclude file extensions?

If I remember correctly centralized exclusions appy to all scans including auto-protect, on demand, scheduled, etc.... Is this correct?

SEP 11 is the product in question

What you have stated is correct. By configuring what extensions for autoprotect to scan only affects autoprotect. Adding the same extension exception in centralized exceptions is going to not only affect auto-protect but also on demand, scheduled scans etc.

Thanks. Sometimes I get the most random question from people and I spend so much time now doing the advanced stuff with SEP and other products that I sometimes forget some of the easy things ;)
