  • 1.  Questions about replacing SEP 12.1.x / SSR 2011 PCs with SEP.cloud / SSR 2013

At a client site, the computers have SEP 12.1.4 installed with SSR 2011 (as part of the Symantec Protection Suite 4.x).

To reduce overhead and file churn on the server, I plan to remove all of the SEP 12.1.4 clients on the computers, and SEPM on the server - and replace all with SEP.cloud.

I am also going to upgrade SSR 2011 to SSR 2013 on the desktops.

I don't see any documentation that discusses this kind of upgrade, so I have some questions.

I know from prior experience that SEP.cloud won't install easily/properly unless the computer is complete clean from prior AV/IS installations.

    1.  Is a manual uninstall sufficient for this or do I have to run cleanwipe?

    2.  Will something like cleanwipe adversely affect SSR?

    3.  Is there a techdoc that describes how to manually remove all traces?

    Thanks!

A manual install should be enough but have cleanwipe handy as well in case.

It shouldn't. Later versions of cleanwipe allow you get more granular with what you can remove.

    Yes, multiple:
