Quick erase is not working in Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows Servers

Hi all,

Quick erase is not working in Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows Servers.

I have inserted new tape into my tape drive and ran quick earse. 

No response, job status is showing as queued. 

Plese help me..

Hello Pavan,

    Right click on the Servername above the Tape drive in the Devices tab and select PAUSE. Then again right click and UNPAUSE the server (uncheck PAUSE).

Now run the Quick erase job and see if it is running.

Hello Pavan,

    Please check this technote:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH63380 : The Utility jobs in Backup Exec will not run until the server is paused/unpaused in the Backup Exec console.

Cause

The above mentioned problem can occur if for some reason the Backup Exec database has theServerStatus flag set to indicate that the server is "Paused" but the Backup Exec console is unable to display that status in the Backup Exec User Interface.
