  • 1.  Quick question regarding SQL DB Encryption Passwort

    Posted Sep 23, 2011 09:40 AM

    Hey everybody,

seeing that my SQL DB has now grown to about 20GB in Size, I face the task of moving the SEM5 DB to another location. to do this I plan to detach and reattach the SEM5 DB in SQL Management Studio. Now the Docs say I then need to reenter the Encryptionpassword.

Now my question is: Per default, is this the same PW the SEM5 User is using?

    Regards

    Stephan

No,there is no default password on SQL for sem5 user; unless you have given the saem password. . You had entered this setting during the installation of SEPM.

If you do not know, you may try purging the logs/events of the SEPM.

    Hello,

Encryption Password is an important element.

A Quick Tip: Encryption password may be the same password which was set as during the Installation of SEPM for Login Purposes for the first time.

    Thanks for your input,

it seems like my only chance ATM is trying to shrink the DB.

Will open a seperate Thread for this.

Again, Thank you for your answers.
