 I think Exchange quota limit

I think Exchange quota limit is just updated/checked at archiving time not during synchronization.

This is not True, The

This is not True, The Exchange Provisioning Task takes care of this.

I tried manual archive tasks

I tried manual archive tasks on all enable mailboxes and the quotas are still not updated!!!!
Reboot of exchange and vault servers does not change anything!!!

I probably misconfigured something I cannot beleive we have to wait days before things are updated

It's the provisioning task

It's the provisioning task that updates this I believe.. Please try running that.

Hope that helps,

I ran the provisionning task

I ran the provisionning task and it's still the old quota

Another question! when I create a new mailbox how long does it take before I can enable it for archiving with EV?

Also do you know if there are some kind of limitation with the trial version of EV????

Remember... if you have

Remember... if you have "just" set the quotas, then in Exchange it can take up two hours by default for that quota to take effect.  Or you can restart the information store service.

I'm 99% sure it's the provisioning task that synchronises the mailbox quotas over to the ExchangeMailboxEntry table - is that where you are looking?  Or are you checking somewhere else?

Unfortunately I don't know anything about a trial version, or how that works.

As an aside, what are you trying to achieve with regards to synchronising the quotas?

Ok I already did restart the

Ok I already did restart the information store and Vault continue seeing old quotas
Ok I already force provisioning
Why synchronize quotas?
my mailbox policy is based only on quotas
all users have 1gb quota and I ask Vault to archive at 80%.Until now Vault work well and archives when a user reaches 800mb
as test I decided to lower the quotas on mailboxes stores in exchange at 500mb Then Vault SHOULD begin archiving again But it does not!!!
When I ask the task "Exchange mailbox archiving "to run Now on selected mailbox Nothing happens. This is  obvious as Vault did not see the change in the quota limit

Strange behavior or there is something I do not understant!

Just a couple of comments

Just a couple of comments that may help? ;

1.  "If no Microsoft Exchange storage limit applies to a mailbox, Enterprise Vault cannot process the mailbox with quota-based archiving."

2.  "In Exchange, you can specify the maximum space that a mailbox can occupy before the user is prohibited from sending or receiving messages. If you archive by quota and this storage limit has been exceeded, then Enterprise Vault cannot process the mailbox with quota-based archiving."

3.  "Remember that Never archive items younger than <age> sets an absolute limit on how much can be archived. For example, you can set Never archive items younger than to 2 weeks and also set Archive items until mailbox available storage reaches to 20%. In this case, the Exchange Mailbox Tasks stop archiving when they reach the 2 week limit. They stop archiving even if less than 20% of the mailbox storage limit is free."

Thanks,
BZ

First comment is perfectly

First comment is perfectly clear for me

Second is annoying I thought EV would process archiving seeing that the quota on was reached or the mailbox was over quota

In the attached image I cannot understand why EV does not see the change in mailbox quota on or off....

Third comment prefectly clearquotas.jpg

What is your user set to with

What is your user set to with regards to quotas, or your mailbox store?

Your screenshot above looks fine to me, it shows a warning limit of 500 Mb, a send limit of 450 Mb (which is sort of the wrong way around) and no send/receive limit.  Your mailbox shows as being 711 Kb.  So given all that I wouldn't expect EV to be doing any archiving on this particular mailbox.  Oh and you have 5 items in the mailbox.

Dtrace Do you know how to use

Dtrace

Do you know how to use DTrace?  If so, dtrace your EvExchangePolicySyncTask, and run the provisioning task.  Add the log of that to your original post, and I'll take a look.

However..  I have a user who had :-

Warning: 250,000
Send : 350,000
Send/Receive : non set

I changed this user in AD Users & Computers to :

Warning : 270,000

I restarted the Exchange information store, so I was certain that the quota was in effect... I synch'ed the mailbox in question, and in my dtrace I can see :
