"Access denied" on usage.asp for other 'authorized' users

Hi,

When we administer the VAC with the VSA we have no problems for accessing the 'Vault Store Usage' usage.asp page within the console.

We also installed the VAC on another 'management' server which is used with other domain login accounts.

These accounts are added to the necessary 'Role assignment' groups via the Autorization Manager in the VAC. All functions work fine for these user accounts, except the 'Vault Store Usage' function.

The webpage within the console appears with 'Access Denied' in all fields.

What can be the problem?

(I already saw some similar threads mentioning the removal of the IWA from the 'enterprisevault' virtual directory, but this cannot be the only solution; I guess, as you always need to enter user and password ...)

Thx,

R.

Unfortunately, this is the only article I found:

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/275790.htm

which also mentions removing IWA...

Sorry!

Cheers

Why not install Enterprise Vault Reports for MSRS?

Usage.asp actually requires some extra sql permissions, where as with the SQL reports they can be administered a lot easier, these reports do include Usage Reports

Can you browse the usage.asp from IIS?

Check http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/287580.htm

This explains how to adjust SQL to allow other people to use usage.asp.

You will have to also follow the instructions mentioned earlier to untick IWA on the usage.asp and the listvaults.asp

Thank you, Gertjan

We had the same problem and our solution was to simply add the Enterprise Vault website (https://evaultsite.domain) to the local intranet sites in IE on the server running the VAC. The usage report page reported all values correctly after that.

Removing IWA for usage.asp and listvaults.asp on every EV server was the same fix we were given for the slow or never responding vault usage reporting page through VAC. Every time we introduce a new EV cluster we have to remove IWA or vault usage reporting fails.
