"Relay access denied" on outbound email through SBG 7.7.0-17

  • 1.  "Relay access denied" on outbound email through SBG 7.7.0-17

    Posted Dec 12, 2008 11:10 PM

    All,

After doing everything I can think of and reading everything I can find, I still can't relay from my Exchange 2007 server though the SBG to the internet.  Inbound is working fine.  However, I get:

    user@outside.com
    sbg.mydomain.com #554 <kiliwynn@hotmail.com>: Relay access denied ##

on all messages I try to send.

I'm pulling my hair out - any help would be appreciated.

    UPDATE:

Found the issue - was pointing Exchange send connector to the INBOUND address on the SBG, not the OUTBOUND address.  Silly me.
