Qurantine message release problem

This issue has been solved. See solution.


Dear Adnan

When we try to release our quarantied messages,we were not able to release massages and have been getting the following error

Cannot release the message. It has either been released or was unable to contact the SMTP host.

Kindly help

What product are you seeing this message from?  Is it SAV. SEP, or one of the mail security products-?

Exactly what it says, we weren't able to connect to your SMTP server. Have you specified a route for messages coming from the brightmail gateway or are you using the non-local route?

Try going through this process to manually specify your mail server for the Control Center to route the messages to:

  1. In the appliance web interface, click on Administration
  2. Under Settings, choose Control Center
  3. Under SMTP host, choose Define New Host
  4. In the field, provide your mail server's IP address and correct port number, if no 25
  5. Save the settings

Once you go through these steps, try releasing the message again.
