RALUS problem

Created: 24 Oct 2011 • Updated: 24 Oct 2011 | 1 comment

Hello everyone,

i have a problem with linux remote backup agent.

BETCPListener::Bind: Could not bind to port 10000 on IPv4, An error occurred during a socket bind operation: Error Code: 98, System Error Message: Address already in use
Could not start NDMP Listener on port 10000: An error occurred during a socket creation operation: Error Code: 98, System Error Message: Address already in use

This always showing in log files, and i tryed to change port to 12000 to 10010 and others, its still the same.

When i use netstat to see who is on that port i get : tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:10000               0.0.0.0:*                   LISTEN      6060/beremote

Also ipv6 is disabled. Linux is Centos 6.

Installation of ralus went good, and also starting and stoping works perfectly, no problems with that.

Now i have 2 question, first one is anyone has any idea how to fix this?

Fixed the 1st part :) double started agent. Still if anyone knows the other info would be great ! Sorry for this!

And 2nd, we have expired license for X number of linux remote agents, will that work, or license needs to be reactivated, or license is just for support ?

Thank you all in advance!

Best regards,

Zoran

CENT OS is not on the software compatibility list of Backup Exec.

About licensing, Backup Exec licenses never expire, its valid for life long.
