  • 1.  Random Client workstation got Error before the logon after system restart

    Hi People,

    I'm using SEP v11.0.4000.2295 in 300+ of my clients and servers, however in my WIndows XP 32 bit client, they received the following popups this morning, random people also affected while they are using their workstation after login:

    Program: ...\Symantec Client Security\Symantec AntiVirus\Rtvscan.exe
     
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

    ---------------------------
    Rtvscan.exe - Application Error
    ---------------------------
    The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x6aab1ca8.
     
    Click on OK to terminate the program
    ---------------------------

    ---------------------------

    any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

     

    I think, Rtvscan.exe  got corrupted, you can try reinstalling.

     

    Check belwo links for the reference.

    Symantec Endpoint Protection fails to start with the following error:"Runtime Error! Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Smc.exe.""The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way, please contact the application's support team for more information":

    This issue has been resolved in RU 7MP1.
    Please find the etrack below and also the link to changes made in RU7MP1.
     
    Rtvscan.exe process terminates unexpectedly with exception code 40000015
    Fix ID: 2147234
    Symptom: Rtvscan.exe process terminates unexpectedly with exception code 40000015.
    Solution: Rtvscan was modified to prevent the crash.
     
    Release Update 7 Maintenance Patch 1 (RU7 MP1)

    Also please let us know if the issue gets resolved by installing RU7 MP1
