    Posted May 13, 2009 11:06 AM

    Hi All,

Have managed to get our RapiDeploy images working fine if they deploy from the eXpress\Images folder.  However, if I change the job to deploy the image from another server at another site, I keep getting error messages saying

    I   Downloading disk image...
X  RDeploy: The file could not be opened.
    I   Configuring computer...
X  Firm: The specified firm drive was not found.

I get 2 error codes, error 41 and error 60

Any ideas what might be causing the problem?  I suspect somethign to do with pulling the image off another server.  The plan is to keep the Deployment Console at one site but get it to deploy images from another site for those local PC's.

    Many thanks for any help

    Regards

This is definitely possible.  What automation client are you using (i.e. Linux, DOS, WinPE)?

How are you calling the image?  Via a UNC, drive mapping, etc.?  You may need to uncheck the box that says to varify the path.

Be sure to check the security of the share and NTFS folder containing the image, making sure that the account you're using for imaging has read access.

This is possible.  Have you setup the server to see these additional data share directories?  If using WinPE, have you added in entries in the lmhost file for the additional data stores, changed the drive mapping, etc.?

    Hope this helps

Came across this problem as well only a few months ago. We forgot that you need to add the mapped location of the image files in both the Boot Disk Creator and the PXE configuration utility.

Bit annoying really? Not as easy as using a mapped drive in WinPE which is what I suggest you use. Especially when using remote sites WinPE is much faster (in deployment of image not loading time) and allows you to configure a lot more.
