Hi Team,

I need a solution for the below.

If we get RC59 in the environment then we will go to the host properties in the GUI and add the media server entry for the particular client.

I just need a command line equivalend to add the media server entry for a particular client .

Thanks,

Gopinath S

See Symantec recommendation: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO34945

The cause for this error is DNS lookup. The client can't resolve the master server either forward (name to IP) or reverse (IP to name). The DNS server must be able to answer authorized.

Once this issue is resolved you would be able to set client settings.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

Which OS is the client?

On Windows Client, Server entries are added to the Registry via NBU GUI.
On Unix/Linux clients, add additional SERVER entry to /usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf (taking care that the Master remains first SERVER entry).

If Master server can access all clients, you can use 'add_media_server_on_clients' command to add all known media server entries to all clients.
