Re-imaging via DS and multiple assets in NS.

Hi All,
I have an issue which we deal with by process but i thought i would throw it out there and get some professional opinions.
Background:
At my workplace we re-image machines (60 at a time) quite regularly using DS and a syspreped image.
We also use the Altiris asset management suite to track our IT assets.
Problem:
The problem is that after re-imaging each PC we end up with new records for each machine. Not duplicate GUIDs rather duplicate assets (with separate GUIDs) but the same name. Currently we deal with this via the "right click" merge function in the asset management console.
Question:
Is it possible to prevent this behavior? Or how you dealing with this same issue?

Common Practice..
Hi,
This is common practice to merge duplicate assets.. either you have to delete the PC from the database which you gonna re image before imaging.. or you have merge the duplicate assets after re imaging..
