Re-install 9.x

Created: 19 Jul 2011 | 4 comments

I just had a hard disk crash and lost the PGP program.   I purchased the software on 24 Dec. 2009 w/ a 1 year maintance contract.  Where do I find my most recent version and how do I down load it.  I have my order number, but I don't know if I need a key or not.

Thanks,

MM

This PDF explains the current way of downloading PGP software that an existing support contract has available for download, but it doesn't sound like this will be available for you.  If you are able to obtain that older software version, you will need your licensing information to use it at more than the Freeware level of functioning.  Since Customer Care handles all licensing issues, and you have your original order number, I'd suggest contacting them to see if they can be of assistance.

Better call Licensing Team at 1-800-721-3934 option 2 so they can walk you through on how to get the latest version of your PGP product and also assist you in getting the new keys for activation.

If you can download an older PGP 9.x version, I don't think it will matter which one - I'd still make the same Customer Care suggestion if you want to pursue this.  Actually, I wouldn't be real surprised if it works in the current version - you can download one of the trial products and give it a try if you wish.  If you didn't purchase a perpetual license, such as with the Home PGP Desktop product, you might have a problem due to license expiration.
