    has a discussion from 2011 about manually starting an inventory scan locally from the client.  Although this has probably not changed in the current SPs, etc., but does anyone know if they are planning to add this ability in version 7.5 when it is released?

    Based on what I've seen in the 7.5 beta it does not appear that this functionality is present. 

    I'll forward this thread to one of the product managers and maybe we can get it back on the roadmap.
