  • 1.  Read client logs remotely from SEPM

IN SSC, you could right click on a client and read the client's logs remotely. Is this possible somehow in SEPM, without waiting for the logs to be uploaded?
I don't know why Symantec would take out such a useful feature?

Its possible to see the logs of a perticular client only through the reporting feature of the SEPM. In the Monitors->Logs tab, under advanced settings, you can specify a computer name. SO you can get the specific logs for that client.

Also, you can save this as a filter. I know its not physible to create such a filter for every client. Its just a workaround I am suggesting.

It would be nice to have the ability to read logs remotely on a client from SEPM as SAV was able to. I suggest we all submit a product enhancement for this option. Sometimes you need to look at the logs "live".

Is it possible to run the log reader by itself on the SEP client, like running cclgview on the SAV clients?

It really is a good suggestion and it will help for real time monitoring of clients too. As far as running the log reader automatically on a SEP client, it not possible. However, you can choose the level of logging and what kind of logs you are looking for from the SEPM console.

You can submit the enhancement request using the link below:
