You can actually do this automatically.  In the console.  Click Tools -> Options.  Click on the Global tab.  You can then check the box that says remove inactive computers after x days.  Set the days to however long you want and after that many days if a computer hasn't checked in, it gets removed from the console, freeing up a license.
