EdT

I just had approx. 20 pages of notification emails for one and the same reply on a forum topic.

I think I rather had the two emails...:-)

Talking about going from one extreme to the other, as you mentioned before.

Yes, you are not the only

Yes, you are not the only one. There is a suspected conflict between modules following the upgrade of the notification module and they are actively trying to sort this out. Meanwhile I have just deleted 650 notification emails.
Dontcha just love this profession....;-)

Same here

I received over 200 before I turned off the notifications in my account. Before this problem I was getting at least 2 per responce. Wish there was a way to set up the notifications to not auto add me to the notifications.

Just make sure that you tick

Just make sure that you tick the "Disable Notifications" box below the Comment window prior to hitting the "Preview" button, when posting.
However, it does look like the notification problem has been sorted, as I received only one notification overnight.

Sorry about the emails

Hi all,

Sorry about the crazy email notifications. We "upgraded" the notification software yesterday and everything went bonkers.

We applied a patch last night that we thought would fix the problem but, alas, no dice.

I've disabled the module that I thought was causing the problem.

We'll stay on it.

Working on e-mail problem

Hi all,

I'm still working on the email problem and am thinking I'm close to fixing the problem.

I just made another change (10am Mountain time Saturday).

Please continue to post as you see issues.

Thanks again for your patience.

Fixed or not...?

I thought this was fixed? I just received over 500 notifications, and they are still coming. I am waiting for the Exchange group to call me up and say "WTF?" =P.

Make it stop!!

Another 1000+ coming in and this is for one notification. So that over 1500 notifications and I have already told it not to notify me after the first 500.

... Still counting, over 2000 now.... and no notications are enabled.

Still coming in

I set up a rule to auto-delete anything from noreply@... left it on for a few minutes hoping to clean out everything. I decided to turn it off to see if i was still getting them, and yes I am. I don't know if it makes any difference, but for the notification I told it only to notify my once an hour.

Staging server disabled

Spazzzen,

I checked the notifications tab on your user profile and can't see that you're signed up for any notifications.

This made me wonder about another possible source of email notifications -- our staging server.

Not sure if this will help but I just disabled all notifications out of the staging server as well.

I've not seen any

I've not seen any notifications since the last time I posted in this thread. I wonder when the last time Spazzzen checked his email was? Perhaps these notifications he received were cached somewhere in cyberspace.

No more notifications so far

I remove the notifications in hopes that it would stop the emails, which it didn't until I created an outlook rule to delete all email from that address. These were not "cached" emails as I used my work address, which I keep open and is always pulling in my new emails instantly. I have turned off the rules and I am not seeing any notifications yet, but as you saw I don't have anything set up to notify me. Guess we will see what happens =P.
