Recently upgraded from BE10d to BE12, catalog of BE10d tape produces excessive byte count/job rate

I have recently upgraded one of my BackupExec installations from 10d (10.1.5629) to 12 (12.0.1364 - Hotfixes 300287,300290,300699), all was sucessfull and subsequent backup/restore tests have also be sucessfull.
I have just tried to 'catalog' a BE10d tape in my BE12 installation, The BE10d installation thinks their is 500GB of data on the tape the BE12 installation thinks their is 1.8TB and a job rate of 92GB per minute, now i like to think i have tuned the system to get the best out of it but i think those figures are a little excessive
Status Byte Count Job Rate Error Code
Catalog Successful 100% 12,009,077,074,083 92,738.00 MB/min
Catalog Successful 100% 12,009,077,074,083 92,738.00 MB/min
Has anybody else seen this before or have any suggestion on how to fix.
