Reconfiguring existing clients
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
Is it possible to reconfigure clients to point to a different SEPM on an entirely different domain, or do they need to be reinstalled?
With previous versions I was able to use the grc.dat to easily move clients about - is there an equivalent file with SEP?
Thanks in advance
Gill

It is possible
Insted of grc.dat sylink.xml is present in SEP.You can use sylink drop utility for replacing this file .This is available in CD2\TOOLS\NOSUPPORT\SYLINKDROP.
Note: CD2 may also be labelled CD3
To export the sylink.xml file
In the console, on the Computers page, select a group, and then right-click Export Communications Settings.
Follow the prompts to save the sylink.xml file.
Do not edit the file.

You can use sylink remote utility also for doing this

Yes SEP uses a diffrent file
Yes SEP uses a diffrent file , the file is called sylink.xml
There is no need to uninstall and reinstall the clients , just replace the sylink and the clients will move to the new SEPM.
On one machine try the following steps:
