Charles,
To the best of my knowledge, RS is supported under VMware, though if you will have many machines (>500 or so), I would recommend using off-box, physical SQL server for the RS database. We have a 15 server RS 6.2 SP2 environment running under VMWare currently with ~500 machines per cluster (single node clusters). A few KBs which may be applicable:

Hi,Thanks for your answer, I
Hi,
Thanks for your answer, I open a call on Symantec Support and I have this answer:
NS Server VM limitations are described in the following KB:
https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=45258&p=1
In regards to the Recovery Solution itself - limitations are basically the same - (1) 500 nodes maximum (2) SQL server should be a separate physical PC. Important thing is that certification testing has not been performed. This means that there no official support for it unfortunately. This means that in case some issues are discovered we'll do our best to help the customer but we can not promise those issues will be fixed.
Please treat this as an official response.
It is the same answer.
Best Regards,
Charles-Henri
Glad to hear I'm on to something! :)
Charles-Henri,
Well I guess I do know something! :)
Glad I could help. I also edited your post to remove some strange formatting code that was left in it for some reason, and removed a duplicate posting on this thread.
Thanks,
Kyle
