We have Oracle 10g(Source) server running on Windows 2003 and one test (Target) oracle machine where we want to restore our source oracle backup images to test the DR scenario. I have follow below Symantec technote to perform redirect restore of Oracle database.

We have successfully taken full backup of source oracle server and successfully restored it on target oracle server. After completing the restoration both Oracle node having the same sets of data files and control files.

The issue we are facing is that when we delete any tablespace on target machine it also reflects on source server means same tablespace was also deleted from source oracle server.

I want to know why oracle server doing this malfunctioning after performing restore.

I would like to know your oracle installtion and database configuration on source and target servers, as backup exec is not involed in this scenario.

Need to check this issue from Oracle side.
