I have the reduced size client installed on some VDI machines. These machines no longer have access to SEPM because they are in a separate environment. I would like to update the virus definitions on them manually. I'm not able to find a .exe file to update the reduced clients

I can find the .jdb file, but I dont think I can use that because I never enabled third party management.

    Any other options?

    Thanks

    Have you tried these?

unfortunately you do not have the option of downloading the reduced size client  content exe to be directly install on a given client. so you would have to use the traditional intelligent updater or let the client update from SEPM.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Symantec community.

If third-party content management is not enabled you can not update SEP client using .JDB file

For more details on third-party managementand updates regarding SEP 12.1 clients, see Using third-party distribution tools to update client computers.

    Hi Chetan,

would the reduced size content JDB work just like the normal JDB in updating the client , if the third part content management is enabled ?

Reduced size content JDB contains only Core3 Certified virus definitions. I am not sure how it works in backend but I believe it should work similar way if the third party content management is enabled.
