  • 1.  Redundent SEPM servers in SNAC setup

I currently have SEP 11 deployed to approx 750 computers and servers from a single SEPM server.  I plan to deploy a second SEPM server in a second site with replicated databases between the two servers.  This server is primarily needed for redundancy but we may use it for load balancing to reduce traffic between our primary site and some remote locations.  I am confident that this setup will meet our SEP needs.

My question is about compatibility of this setup with our planned Symantec Network Access Control deployment.  We are planning on implementing SNAC with two SNAC Enforcer Appliances.  My question is will the second SEPM server with replicated database be able to server as a redundant server for SNAC?  If the first server is unreachable will the second server automatically take over control of the management of the SNAC environment?

    Hi Jeff,

Yes this is possible since the Enforcers use the same management server list(s) from the SEPM server policy library. See pic below.

    Cheers!

    Hi Jeff,

Yes this is possible since the Enforcers use the same management server list(s) method from the SEPM server policy library. Just select an appropriate server list. See pic below. Of course if you are doing LAN Enforcemen and fail over to another site, it ma indicate more than just a SEPM down, then  you may need to make sure all RADIUS  parts list RADIUS cliens/shared secrets for the other site.

    Cheers!
