Reg : SWG 8450 Deployment Best practice.

Created: 28 Oct 2010 | 1 comment

Dear Friends

We have planned to deploy SWG 8450 Appliance at our network.

Setup  : Inline Blocking.

The appliance is behind the firewall and it is in front of a squid proxy.

Please suggest me for the best practice..

Please clarify the following doubt.

Does it required to have two seperate IP addresses to have (for management and for monitoring/blocking)

Regards

Arul.A

Only one ip address is required for the SWG device.

If you are going to be using LDAP for to have user level report data of if you want to see machine level reporting you may want the proxy on the wan side of your SWG device. The SWG will see all the traffic as coming from the proxy which will prevent it from seeing specific ips of machines and user information.
