Hi Rohit,
you can check NDMP drive status by following command
<install path>\prog files\veritas\volmgr\bin>tpautoconf -verify <NDMPHOST>
but i think you are facing above issue with connection time out with NDMPHOST
you may need to increase time out value and for that below URL will help you :)

Hi yogesh,
How can I check my tape drive status in my NDMP host if my drives are shared and I have to cheak their status.
Warm regards,
Rohit
Hi Rohit,
do u want to chk NDMP drive status from NAS OS level ?
if yes plz let me know NAS make / model
below is example command to chk drive status from NDMP host (putty login) & server_2 is data mover
[nasadmin@EMCNAS-CS nasadmin]$ server_devconfig server_2 -p -s -a
If this post has helped you, please vote or mark as solution.

NAS version
NetApp Release 7.3.3: is the NAS model
Warm regards,
Rohit
Rohit,
Kindly post O/P of below commands
install path>\prog files\veritas\volmgr\bin>tpautoconf -verify <NDMPHOST>
install path>\prog files\veritas\volmgr\bin>tpautoconf -probe <NDMPHOST>
For NetApp run below commands on NAS
To display the robot device file, sign on to the NetApp host and enter the
following command:
sysconfig -m
The names are of the format mcN, where N is 0 or higher.
For example:
Medium changer (6a.4) HP C6280-7000
mc0 - medium changer device
Media devices
To display tape device files, enter the following command:
sysconfig -t
Always use the drive names that begin with “nr” (such as nrst0a) because these
are the non-rewinding devices.
Example sysconfig output:
Tape drive (6a.5) Quantum DLT7000
rst0l - rewind device, format is: 81633 bpi 40 GB (w/comp)
nrst0l - no rewind device, format is: 81633 bpi 40 GB (w/comp)
urst0l - unload/reload device, format is: 81633 bpi 40 GB (w/comp)
rst0m - rewind device, format is: 85937 bpi 35 GB
nrst0m - no rewind device, format is: 85937 bpi 35 GB
urst0m - unload/reload device, format is: 85937 bpi 35 GB
rst0h - rewind device, format is: 85937 bpi 50 GB (w/comp)
nrst0h - no rewind device, format is: 85937 bpi 50 GB (w/comp)
urst0h - unload/reload device, format is: 85937 bpi 50 GB (w/comp)
rst0a - rewind device, format is: 85937 bpi 70 GB (w/comp)
nrst0a - no rewind device, format is: 85937 bpi 70 GB (w/comp)
urst0a - unload/reload device, format is: 85937 bpi 70 GB (w/comp)
Alternate means of finding robot and media device file names
NetBackup 4.5 and higher provides a new method of discovering devices
attached to a NAS host. This is the -probe option on the tpautoconf
command. The -probe option requires NDMP protocol version 3.
For example:
tpautoconf -probe <netapp>
