  • 1.  Regarding t1ag.2 file

    Posted Mar 13, 2012 02:00 AM

Recently I find some suspicious files are getting created under C:\ directory of type t1ag.2 and hidden folders like found.000.With windows normal mode Symantec is skipping the scan of these files.

How do I get rid of these files using Symantec?

    Thnks & Rgds,

    Mandrita.

    Hi Simpson,

Currently I don't have a support ID of Symantec.Morever my desktop belongs to the organization I am working with(Tata Consultancy Services).

Not sure whether my company has any support identifier.

Also today from the network team they came and deleted that file by launching the computer in safe mode.

Not sure whether that same file will get re-created or not(till now it hasn't). So I was just thinking whether anybody could give any idea on how to track this virus(if at all) with Symantec anti-virus.

I would say that you follow the security best practices like:

Keeping Virus defs up to date

    Turn off Auto run

You could also scan your machine in safe mode

Please check with your company if they have support and you can open a case.

    Normal troubleshooting goes like this.

    run the latest rapid release.

    reboot in safe mode

    run a full scan

Note that this is not a fix for all infections.

IF you do not have a contract with Symantec for support, you can submit the files to anyone of the below sites.

    http://www.threatexpert.com/submit.aspx

    https://www.virustotal.com/

These sites will be able to scan the file and tell you if it is clean, though they cannot provide you a repair definition.
