Regarding Update

Hi,

 

   i have 4000 clients in SEPM and all are update in assigned 15 groups are per planned. Now we have reshdule to create the 30 groups and move all the clients in locationwise group. Now pls confirm is it effect if i will be change in working time.

5 of the Group which hasbeen picking the update threw Gup. Is it effect if i will rechange in Office time.

2000 systems are of Remote location(updating threw Gup). How much bandwidth it will be kept..

If anyone understand my wording, so plks reply

1. If Scan Randominzation and

1. If Scan Randominzation and missed scans is enabled it might start a full scan for moving groups.Recommend not to move huge number of clients in Production hours.

2. GUPs changing has nothing to do with Ofice time..

3. For 2000 clients it is only the GUPs that will be pulling down the definitions. Make in the liveupdate policy mention that not to bypass GUP after any amount of days.

If the 2000 client is in single location use a SEPM in that location.

Since only handful of GUPs will be pulling down the defs so the Bandwidth utilization will be low.

I will be agree and go with ur mention points..

If I can rename the Remote location folder which are going update threw GUP with company Approved Group Name then is it affected??

 

I mean that can I rename the Group in working hour??

Is it possible??

Will the GUP server would be shutdown as per the office timing? if yes then it can affect the updates but its recommended to keep the GUP on a server which would not be turned off frequently.

Try testing on few machines

Try testing on few machines first and then move with with the rest of machines eventually..
