  • 1.  Registry Key for making Application Metering send the Summary data back every 5 minutes in 7.1 SP2

    Dear All,

    Application Metering 7.1 SP2 does not allow you to send the summary data back to the server every 5 minutres (for obvious reasons). However, I have evidence (from a Symantec training course) that you can do this in the registry of an endpoint. I did not get the contents of the registry file on the course.

    The problem is that I have a possible hack for doing this, but it works for the WHOLE SERVER, which would be MAD. I need this to work for just a single machine.

    Does anyone else have this?

    Can't find much, these articles do suggest the Application metering agent can be configured on the client:

    Both referring to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\Application Metering key.

    You could try restarting the Symantec Management Agent with Regmon running and see what is queried under that key.

    Yes, those are two SymWise articles that I have read and picked over, over and over. Nice try.

    I like your idea of using RegMon, however?!

    I do get annoyed that it is a useful thing to be able to do, but Symantec do not publish it. Even if they say, at the same time, "You can do this, but it is unsupported"!
