This issue has been solved. See solution.

All -

I have reinstalled EV on a server with VCS (Cluster). Though when I reinstalled the EV server, it wants to connect to an existing EV Site, which was the site I had installed EV initially with.

Are there some registry keys we have to delete which would make EV Configuration not think that we have already been configured to an existing site?

Or can this be an issue with VCS Cluster?

I have done an uninstall and reinstall many times on a physical nodes without any complaints from EV so I'm leaning towards issue with VCS????

Let me know your thoughts.

Reinstall for 'rescue' or fresh?

Hi EVH,

Although not having experience with VCS, some thoughts.

Do you want to use the site, or create a new site?
If new site, will you use the old site next to it?
If not, did you delete (or dismount perhaps) the old databases?
Is there perhaps some shared storage having configuration information?
In the admin guide somewhere is a story about recovery, which mentions deleting some entries in the directory database. That perhaps an idea?

Seeing you did some reinstalls. must be a vcs issue, I'm curious to learn solution.

Thank you, Gertjan

Gertjan -

I have deleted the directory db and its a fresh install so there would be nothing to change. I'm looking for reg key but found nothing.
We have shared disk (on vcs) which has registry information/MSMQ but I don't think that would be anything that would effect it.

Its a mystry - Waiting for Symantec to call.

One Caveat - I have kept the existing VCS service group (which contains all of the shared disk amongst the clustered nodes) and have brought that service group up for EV to configure with that service group.

Gertjan -

Strange but a reboot resolved the issue as I was able to create the new EV site. There were no bugs or anything.
