A while back, when I upgraded between version 12 versions, I forgot to halt replication as I upgraded one SEPM, prior to upgrading the second SEPM.  Each was running an indpendent SQL Server DB, and replicating through SEP.

I've pondered whether it's better to restore the SEPM whose DB was damaged, versus just installing it as a new SEPM.  I previously contacted Support, and they've already advised that a repair isn't an option.  I still can copy the cert for damaged SEPM.  But is it worth that?

    Thoughts?

The existing architecture has been running for several weeks on the lone SEPM.  This is really more for DR than stability.

If the DB is bad, I would just do a fresh install.

I would suggest you to try with the same DB, Upgrade the other SEpm and try to connect it back, If anything fails, you have left with no option other than Clean Install!
