We received a Trojan.Gen.2 virus on one of our SEP clients.  It quarantined the risk and the remediation status was set to "successful - clean security risk failed."  What does that mean?  Was the virus removed from the client and cleaned successfully?  What does it mean when the clean security risk failed?

It means it couldn't clean it but it successfully quarantined it. You can delete from quarantine if you wish.

    Here's a mention of it:

Thanks for the helpful response.  Since the risk was quarantined does but it wasn't cleaned successfully is my client at risk?  Or should it be okay since it is quarantined?

Yes, since it's in quarantine, your client is safe. The malicious file will be held there and unable to harm the system any further.
