Remote Agent on 2008 R2 64 bit server

This issue has been solved. See solution.
I've got a new server 2008 R2 running 64 bit that I installed the Remote Agent on and when opening the utility on the server I get a compatibilty warning.
So my question is how to get a compatible agent on there. We are running 12.5 revision 2213
I came across this doc but was wondering if there is another way and why you cannot install the Remote Client via the BE console.

First make sure you are
First make sure you are patched to the latest hotfix in order to ensure compatibility with Windows 2008 R2. Once this is confirmed, use push install to install remote agent on the target server.
