Remote Agent service crashes when trying to do a restore

Created: 19 May 2010 | 4 comments

The Backup Exec Remote Agent crashes when trying to do a Microsoft Exchange email restore.  It fails with this error:

Restore- (SERVER NAME)
V-79-57344-65072 - Connection to the restore target has been lost. Operation canceled.

In server 08 event viewer we also get an error about .Net Runtime:
.NET Runtime version : 2.0.50727.4200 - Application ErrorApplication has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process ID=0x18bc (6332), Thread ID=0x29d4 (10708).

Anybody have any ideas.  I am trying to restore from a WD Elementse SE USB hard drive.

Thanks

Hi,

If the remote agent on the remote server is failing then try reinstalling the remote agent.

I reinstalled the remote agent and also re-did my usb removable backups.  I am now getting a different error when trying to restore.

Final error: 0x10cc - The media identifier does not represent a valid medium

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Alright, got it all fixed now except for services are still failing and the restore job doesn't complete with the same error above.
