  • 1.  Remote Deployment of Clients in SEP11.

    Can anybody tell me what are the prerequisite for a client to enable the remote installation from Symantec Endpoint server.

    To remote deployment you must be using a windows domain with admin password.
    If you are in a workgroup model type secpol.msc in start-run.
    here go to security options and in right ride lookk for "Network Access :Sharing and security model for local accounts " and change it to  classic.

    Client pc must have a n Admin password. "No blank password "


    And Now for hardware requirement.

    Minimum Intel pentium $ processor with 256 mb of RAM (more is better)

    There's really only a few:

    -Disable Windows Firewall
    -Disable Simple File Sharing
    -Ensure no other real time scanning security products are installed

    Other than this you should be good to go!

    Check for following options on the client machines
     
    1) Windows Firewall should be turned off or Open Port TCP ports 139 and 445 and  UDP ports 137 and 138.
     
     
    2) Simple File sharing should be disabled.
     
     
    3) Verify that File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks is enabled.
     
     
    4) Admin $ and C$ shares are present
     
    5 ) Check to make sure the computer browser service is set to automatic, if not set to automatic and start the service.

    This will work even without domain.
    But all the criteria should be met... like unique username (Admin account) password, Admin share, simple sharing, etc...

    These are the requirment  to push the pacakge to the Client, It is independent  of the environment  ( Workgroup / Domain)
