Check this article which shows the supported 3rd party programs that can be removed by SEPPrep:

    https://symwisedownload.symantec.com/resources/sites/SYMWISE/content/live/SOLUTIONS/195000/TECH195029/en_US/Third%20party%20security%20software%20removal%20support%20in%20Symantec%20Endpoint%20Protection%2012.1.2%20-%2012.1.4.pdf?__gda__=1448869078_46dde5d482f62bd0eb47a3df69da3fba

I don't see Avast but Sophos is supported.

This article steps through editing the ini:

Do you have the ini, it should've come within the folder that had SEPPrep.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Symantec community. I would be glad to assist you here.

Could you verify the sopho's version again. I see the list of supported versions except 10.3

Open the following link & go to Page-34 there you will find supported versions list.

    https://symwisedownload.symantec.com/resources/sites/SYMWISE/content/live/SOLUTIONS/195000/TECH195029/en_US/Symantec%20Endpoint%20Protection%2012.1.5%20Third%20Party%20Security%20Software%20Removal%20Support%20List.pdf?__gda__=1449039183_6331da3c3aa722db8ac19718df7adb20

Also, did you select the following option under client install settings?

    Uninstalled.jpg

For any other unsupported product we do recommend Sepprep.tool.

SEPprep is an unsupported tool that is designed to uninstall any competitive product automatically. This tool can also launch another application before or after removing all competitive products.

Configure this tool to first remove all competitive products (including Norton products) and then launch the SEP installer automatically and silently.

    @ Mirza,

The solution you marked is not an actual solution. Please mark the correct one that helped you solve your problem.

    Thanks!

Why do you think it's not an actual solution? & this is not a good practice to comment against thread owner. Let them decide which reply helps them to solve their issue.

    @ Chetan Savade,

In no way did I comment negatively against the thread owner. Please don't be confused about this.

It's not a solution for two reasons:

    1. The solution marked does not specifically answer the question.
    2. Asking a question "Is there any update" is NOT a solution to a question.

As always, let's take this offline and discuss via PM if you need further clarification. I don't feel it's fair to the community to be subjected to our constant bickering nor is it proper forum etiquette.

    Thanks!

    @Brian

I still do not agree that solution marked is helpful to no one. Please do not think your judgement is always perfect.

We have our internal best practice guides so please again do not teach me what is a good practice. I will also prefer to take it offline & so there was no need to explain it here.

All hostility aside, please read the PM I sent you so this can be taken offline.
