Hi All,

I would like to know the procedure for removing duplicate clients from SEPM. We have around 25000 clients in SEPM, however the count including duplicate reached around 29000 for which the message we are getting the SEPM is overdeployed. We have around 29000 licences. AD is synchronised but only for user authentication not for importing OU and clients.

Multiple systems have been built using SCCM with the same hostname. Need to remove those entries from SEPM. Removal of clients from SEPM is enabled after 30 days.

Can anybody please help on this.

There are three high-level steps to repair duplicate Symantec Endpoint Protection client IDs.

1. Identify the clients
2. Repair the clients
3. Clean up the client view in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

Then go with this step.

Change the Removal of clients  after 30 days to 1 day.

So the duplicate entries will be deleted & removed from SEPM and if any client not a duplicate entry is deleted from SEPM because of this settings.

Dont worry about that automatically when the clients online it will be back to the SEPM and register itself.
