  • 1.  Remove Right-click menu options from Activity Center

    Posted Jul 01, 2015 02:15 PM

I believe I am fairly decent at the monstrosity that is Security in SMP. Although, this one is eluding me. I have created a some custom roles and I would like to remove the ability for them to see some right-click menus in the Activity Center. More specifically, it is the right-click menus for the Filters and Targets. I have managed to disable the functionality of these but not remove the menu option. In other words, the user can still click on these menu options and think they are doing something, but they will ultimately be hit by a message that they do not have permissions to say Add to Filter Assign To a Task.

    We are using 7.5 SP1 HF5.

Has anyone been able to achieve the removal of the following in the images?

    Hi donald.noah,

if you want to remove these actions from right-click menu:

    • "Add to Filter"
    • "Add to Target"
    • "Create Target from Filter"

Open "Privileges" tab of your custom "Security Role" and uncheck these checkboxes.

Thank you for the reply Igor but that only stops them from being able to "follow-through" with the action. In my custom role, everything under "Management Privileges" is unchecked.

Like I said previously, the end user of this role is unable to do any of the actions. They can not "Add to Filter" or "Add to Target". They will ultimately be met by a popup saying you dont have permission to do this.

What I am unable to remove is them being able to SEE this in the right-click.

    Hi donald.noah,

I've understood everything you've described above and from my side I've just provided only a way to remove actions from "1st" screenshot, since there they are shown as available :)

For 2nd screenshot I didn't check and don't have exact steps to accomplish your goal.

    Regards,

    IP.
