  • 1.  Remove SEP trialware silently while password protection is in place

    Hi guys,

Anyone knows of a way to remove SEP trialware silently while password protection is in place? I 'm switching to retail but i have to remove the old trialware first and since I have a couple of hundred of clients direct uninstallation is impossible.

I tried opening a case on mysupport but to do that i have to validate my tech id and that's also not working, i receive an error. (The MySupport application has encountered a program error.)

    Thank you for your time.

How to uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection Client using the MIcrosoft Installer (MSI) command line interface. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007091209261948

Thank you Prachand for your fast reply.
Unfortunately I know that information already. My problem is that the client has password protection on the uninstall so that the msiexec will not be able to remove it. Do you know how to remove it in this case?

    Thank you for your time.

You can disable the password from the registry  and then run that

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV\AdministratorOnly\Security\UseVPUninstallPassword  change the value to 1 and this will disable the uninstall password

Is it not possible for you to disable the password via the SEPM and allow the clients to pick up the new policy?  (If they're not communicating,, however, I can see how that'd be an issue.)

I have fixed my problem by using symlinkdrop from cd2.

Thank you all for your time.
