Remove This Task After Successful Install

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have created 3 packages.   Each package has the following settings.

Run on a schedule.  Run at System Startup
Run as soon as possible after scheduled time
Run with the Local System Account
Run whether a user is logged in or not
User Input Required (yes, it is checked)
Remove this task after successful install (yes, it is checked)

I have a Sequential Task that will install all 3 packages.  This Task has the following settings.
Run on a schedule.  Run at System Startup
Only run at scheduled time

I have a test collection that I target.  The job runs and the machines get all 3 packages.   When I reboot the packages run at start up.

But...... the 3 tasks remain in the Altiris Agent Software Delivery display window even though "Remove this task after successful install" is checked.  So the next time the machine reboots the 3 packages all run again, which we of course don't want.  I have tried playing around with the schedule too trying different options and nothing seems to work.

I do not see a "Remove this task after successful install" check box on the Sequential Task page for some reason.

So my question is how do I run a sequential task at system startup and have the 3 called packages only run once and never again?

Thank you.

Run it conditionally

Run the task conditionally, so that the task or sequential task only runs if the program is not installed.  In other words, make it a policy instead of a task.

I was able to solve my

I was able to solve my problem doing this:

Using Wise Script Editor I created a wrapper package that will install all 3 packages.  I then ran that single package and selected Remove this task after successful install.

But.......where do you create the policies since I like the sound of that better.   We have NS 6.x

Thank you.

In NS6

In NS6 you would apply the task to a collection that automatically updates based on your inventory data.
